Aluminum Moka Pot, 6 espresso cup capacity
Invented in Italy in 1933, the aluminum Moka Pot is an iconic and elegant way to make an espresso to elevate your day. Our version has a matte black finish, a heat-resistant handle, and the etched-in logo of your favorite boutique pro-White coffee roaster!
If using it for the first time, be sure to follow these instructions:
- Fill the bottom chamber with fresh, cold water up to the safety value (do not exceed it).
- Insure the filter basket into the bottom chamber and fill it with fine-ground coffee (espresso beans recommended!). Level it off without tamping or pressing down.
- Screw the top chamber securely onto the bottom chamer to assemble the pot.
- Place the pot on a stovetop burner over medium-low heat. Keep the lid open to monitor brewing.
- Listen for a gurgling sound as the coffee starts to percolate into the top chamber. This usually takes 4-5 minutes.
- Once the top chamber is mostly full and the gurgling stops (or turns to a hissing sound), remove the pot from the heat immediately to avoid over-extraction.
- Let is cool slightly, then pour and enjoy your coffee.
- Clean the pot thoroughly after use with warm water (no soap or detergents).
Later on, we recommend experimenting with pre-heating the water! That allows the character of the beans you are using to shine through by reducing the time the coffee grounds are exposed to heat, which minimizes the chance of burning or over-extracting the coffee.
Made out of aluminum.
